REHEARSALS ONLINE IN FALL 2020
Rehearsals will take place online for the entire fall 2020 semester (October - December). We will continue to monitor the status of the pandemic and make decisions for the spring 2021 semester as we receive updated information. Online rehearsals will take place each week during the usual time: Sundays, 1:45 - 4:30 pm. However, choristers will not be expected to attend a nearly 3-hour Zoom meeting every week and will be notified in advance the time frame they will be needed. The goal will be for everyone (choristers and staff) to feel energized and excited each Sunday afternoon, rather than tired and disengaged.
2020-21 SEASON START DATE
The season is set to begin with a virtual parent/guardian/chorister meeting on Sunday, October 4 at 1:30 pm.
The Youth Chorus' first rehearsal will follow.
PLANNED PERFORMANCES
The directors are working on exciting plans, which include the Youth Chorus performing a virtual concert in
December. Spring 2021 performances will be planned accordingly as we receive updated information about the status of the pandemic.
TUITION FEES WAIVED FOR FALL 2020
Due to the revised online schedule, tuition fees will be waived for fall 2020. If the Youth Chorus is able to rehearse and perform in person during the spring 2021 semester, fees may be prorated at 50% of the annual cost: $42.50 ($85 annual fee). Families are never turned away due to financial hardship, and tuition scholarships are readily available through a simple application.
REVISED UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
All returning and new chorus members will be required to purchase a newly designed $12 chorus t-shirt, which will be used for any virtual performances. Choristers will not need to purchase formal uniform attire in fall 2020, but may be required to do so in spring 2021 if the chorus performs in person at a formal concert or event. If formal attire is needed, tuxedo rentals will be available through the Chorus Office as usual. As previously mentioned, families are never turned away due to financial hardship, and attire scholarships are readily available via an application.
