VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

VIDEO RECOMMENDATIONS

You’ll be submitting three separate videos (two solos and the Mozart excerpt). Each video should follow the same procedure. First, let’s review the audition requirements.

  • Sing two solo prepared pieces. Repertoire may be art song, aria, or Broadway. At least one of the two prepared solos must be in French, German or Italian. Solos do NOT need to be memorized, but must have piano accompaniment (no a cappella singing).

  • Sing the provided excerpt from Mozart's Requiem, starting at the Allegro, with the provided accompaniment track. As with the solos, please record the excerpt with the accompaniment track audible in your video.  See AUDITION EXCERPT page.

When recording the Mozart excerpt, please play the provided "accompaniment" track in the background and sing along (please do NOT sing along to any of the other study tracks provided). Note the tempo on the final accompaniment track is faster than the practice tracks.

For each of your solo videos, you’ll also need to be able to play a recording of the accompaniment that can be heard in your video. The director should be able to hear both your accompaniment and you.

CREATE YOUR VIDEO

Make sure you are in a well-lit space so that we can see you perform. Each solo should be a separate recording, so that you will have three videos in total.

1. Please begin your recording by saying your name.

2. For each solo, please announce the title and composer of the piece you will be singing.

3. Sing!

SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO

In all cases, review your final videos and be sure we can hear you over the accompaniment. Once you are satisfied with your recording, you’ll need to upload it to YouTube or Google drive. If using YouTube, you’ll make your video “unlisted” so that only people who have the link to the video can view it. An unlisted video will not appear in any of YouTube's public spaces (such as search results, your channel, or the Browse page).  If using Google drive, you'll need to check your sharing settings are such that "anyone can view".
