Required Audition Excerpt

Prospective singers for the Cleveland Orchestra Choruses are typically asked to prepare an excerpt from a major work representative of what the chorus may need to prepare in coming seasons. Singers are provided with the relevant pages from the score and the same study tracks that chorus members will receive to prepare the work at home. This shows the director the level of your ability to study outside of and prepare for rehearsal.

 

The required excerpt for either the Blossom Festival Chorus or the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus is provided below. Please note that the excerpt is 21 pages long. If you would like to have a printed copy mailed to you, email us at chorus@clevelandorchestra.com.

Music study tracks will be provided for each voice part, as well as an accompaniment-only track and German diction recordings. At this time, those are still being prepared, but should be available before the end of February.
