Memorize Music of Life (be careful to memorize the cut-offs and breaths correctly)

Sing Out My Soul

1. This was not memorized well enough this evening. Expect small group testing on this next week. 

2. The B section needs work - remember every "not" has a crescendo, soprano 2's you have a really important part here - please sing out!

3. Ending:

   1. Check the last page, our rhythms were not correct.

   2. Make sure to memorize the crescendos at the end.

   3. Please find the pattern for the dynamic levels (hint: think about the number of phrases sung at piano, mezzo-piano!, etc.) 

Dona Nobis Pacem

1. Use the practice tracks Mr. Young made to clean this up! We should be leading the Prep chorus, and last night they knew this better than we did. 

Tshotsholoza

1. Careful Soprano 1's on your melody, that you are not scooping!

2. Everyone, look at the rests!

Siyahamba

1. Practice while marking around your house with a steady beat! 🙂

2. Altos and Soprano 2's - careful not to rush, practice with a metronome to help. Set it to quarter note/beat = 110

I Sing Because I'm Happy

1. Wow, this is really starting to be great! 

2. Look at the articulations (staccato, accents, etc.) to make sure you are singing your line with the MOST expression you can. 

3. Watch this video - I love how happy this group looks while they are singing. 

4. Think about why you sing. I'd love for all of you to tell me next week, " I sing because ________________"

1. We ran out of time for this last night. Please be sure to have this memorized well for next week. 

   1. Here is a good recording - they do a lot with shaping of the phrase, and I like their tone.
